Emerge's Bits & Bytes: April 2025
Max & Sarah just got back from an incredible few days at Deep Dish Swift! 🍕 Huge thank you to Josh & Kari Holtz and the entire Deep Dish / RevenueCat team for putting together such a great event for three years running. We can't wait to be back!

What we're building
💀 Reaper InsightsOur newest Reaper insight feature lets you compare older versions of your app against each other to let you know how long code has been unused. The longer a type has remained unused through version updates and user sessions, the higher confidence you can have in removing it.

We improved our jsbundle parsing and now show you more detail in our size analysis treemap for React Native apps (see Shopify example for before vs. after). We also released a new Size Analysis Insight for stripping Hermes bytecode files. This is our first RN-specific insight, now available for both Android & iOS 🎉

Custom Precision is now available for Android! This parameter allows you to set a % threshold for when a snapshot will be considered different. For example, if you set the threshold to be 0.95, you'll only be notified of snapshots where >5% of pixels are different.
What we're writing
👽 Searching for Aliens @ Try! SwiftListen to our co-founder Noah Martin as he uses the Drake Equation as a metaphor to explore how scale factors—like efficient memory management and reduced bugs—can dramatically amplify an app's impact.
