Emerge Tools is joining Sentry

👋 We have big news: Emerge Tools is joining Sentry.

First things first: for current users, our tools will continue to work exactly as you'd expect. There's an FAQ at the bottom with more logistics, but we want to talk about Emerge's journey so far and why we're excited about what's next.

Our goal has always been to help developers build better apps. Now, we'll work with the incredible team at Sentry to build the best mobile tooling in the world.

How we got here

We actually founded our first company together building apps all the way back in 2011. Yes, that's right, we've been working together for 14 years 🫨

After years of working on indie apps and then in big tech, we quit our jobs and founded Emerge Tools in late 2020 with a focus on app size. It's all too easy to make mobile apps bigger, leading to real problems: slower downloads, prompts to wait for WiFi, or users deleting your app to make room for more photos.

Whether you're an indie or enterprise developer, app size shouldn't be hard. So we built Size Analysis, to help teams like Spotify, Square, and Tinder focus on building great apps and not worry about why a bump in Xcode version caused thousands of apps to spike in size.

We've tried to keep this same mindset as we've grown: make simple tools to demystify the hard parts of mobile. Too many teams end up building their own infra and tooling to solve the same problems. We wanted to make tools that worked out of the box. Just upload your app and get answers.

Now in early 2025, we've expanded to six products and have analyzed millions of builds. Along the way, we've been lucky to work with with some of the best companies in the world – OpenAI uses Snapshots to make sure ChatGPT looks great on all platforms, Duolingo safely deleted 1% of their codebase using Reaper, DoorDash reduced app launch by 60% with Performance Analysis, and many more.

Whether it's our many, many public app size breakdowns or being the first third-party to symbolicate SwiftUI (which Apple conveniently released symbols for a few months later), we're incredibly proud of the work we've done and think we've helped spark positive change in the community.

Looking forward

Today, we're joining Sentry.
